HUMMINGBIRD HOUSE EXPERIENCE
MEDITATION WALK, PURIFICATION SWEAT AND COLD PLUNGE

Are you looking for something unique and completely different? Amazingly, Cornville also sits within the vortex energy or “electro-magnetic anomalies” measured by the U.S. Geological Society (USGS), which Sedona is famous for. The Hummingbird House is where Daniel and his wife, Valerie, live. It’s a short, 25-minute drive from Sedona, is set 75 feet above Oak Creek and in the beautiful, serene countryside of Cornville. Valerie, Daniel, and Sita (dog), and Moonie (cat), moved there in October 2022.
On this magical, 2-acre property is built a Native American-style medicine wheel and Purification (sweat) Lodge. The feeling here is much more expansive, peaceful, and good for the heart and soul. Animals such as deer, bobcat, rabbit, squirrels, chipmunk, mice, hawk, eagle, heron, lizard, and roadrunner all love being on the property.
This “medicine wheel” was originally conceived by Dana Ross, who designed it with his own unique style. When Daniel and Valerie obtained it from Dana, Daniel and Dana loaded it, stone by stone and buckets of gravel, into his truck. Then, it was all unloaded, at their previous home in Uptown Sedona, stone by stone and…well, you get it. It was all reassembled and blessed by local shaman and medicine men/women. After an unexpected manifestation, Valerie and Daniel found themselves as the new caretakers of a dream property for them. When they moved to Cornville, that process was done all over again! It was definitely a journey not only moving all of their possessions, but also the Grandfathers and Grandmothers (stones). In the morning, participants will start by “walking” the Medicine Wheel, at the front of the Hummingbird House, and use it as a way to connect and meditate on the different aspects of their life (30 min). Each direction (South, West, North, East) relates to a different season or aspect of our life.
You will continue with a walking meditation down the steep path on your way to the Purification Lodge below (30 min). There are 108, steps, hand-built by Artie Lookinghawk, over a 7+ year span, leading 75 feet down to Oak Creek flowing by. Before you start, take in the beautiful scenery in front of you…the valley, Oak Creek, cottonwood trees, soaring birds of prey, llamas and horses across the creek, and sacred Sugarloaf Mountain to your left (protected indigenous ruins).
During your exploration of the property, see how many statues of gnomes, fairies, meditating lions, and unicorns you can discover. The steps are tall, but sturdy…you’ll need a strong heart to navigate yourself down and eventually back up. Go slow and use this time to be completely present and conscious in the moment.
Unless you’ve got serious hip, knee or heart issues, you’ll be fine.
After your 4th or 5th time, it’s a piece of cake!
You’ll gather together, get grounded again and there you’ll be invited to share what came up during the meditations (Medicine Wheel and 108 Steps). This is a unique and fantastic opportunity to dive deeper within yourself to get more clarity on questions you may have been asking (“What is my purpose?”, “Why am I here?”, “Why do I feel ___________?”).
Combined with information you share about what has been going on in your life (emotional, relationship, physical-chronic), Daniel will offer his wisdom, knowledge, spiritual insights and intuition for each participant.
Whether you are on the path of recovery, healing, or spiritual ascension, you’ll find more profound clarity and a shift in perspective that gives you an opportunity for expansion in consciousness (1hr).
Afterwards, if you haven’t already, you will change into clothes more appropriate for ceremonial sweat and purification (normally, shorts for men, conservative skirt or dress for women). The stones (Grandfathers and Grandmothers) have been purifying themselves in the sacred fire for hours. One by one, each will be invited into the ceremony and be blessed with sage, chapparal, and rosemary. Water will be poured to release energy (steam) and bless all participants and their prayers. experience a light, ceremonial, purification/sweat.
Make your way down about 20 feet to a refreshing, cold plunge into Oak Creek. Approximate time: 1.5 hours.
Start your slow, 108-step ascent and enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the four patios (North, South, East, West), enjoying four separate, amazing views. (1hr).

Reconnect with your primal nature and ancestral ties in this sacred ceremony and shamanic sound journey.
Daniel will take you into a secluded area within the powerful energies of the Sedona red rocks. While laying down and eyes covered, you’ll experience a combination of deep, guided meditation, a powerful and transformative breathing technique, and shamanic rhythms (singing bowl, Native American flute, and drum, didgeridoo, vocal toning) to connect more deeply into your heart and induce hypnotic, trance-like, altered states of consciousness. Shamanic rhythms create a pathway into theta states within the brain, which is the place of meditation and stillness.

Through several local retreat companies, most visitors have between 1.5hrs and 3hrs with Daniel Posney. You’ll reserve a full day with Daniel Posney for your own private experience.
8:00AM – Gather at the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park for blessings and introductions. The stupa is a place for prayers and meditation, situated at the base of Thunder Mountain and Chimney Rock.
We’ll set intentions and create a releasing ceremony, which is used to let go of anything standing in the way of learning and evolving. Time to immerse ourselves in the powerful energy of Sedona, created by beautiful surroundings, power-amplifying crystals in the rocks, high-iron soil content, history of indigenous vision quest and the natural electro-magnetic energy of the Earth.
10:15AM – Rachel’s Knoll. A beautiful scenic stop hidden inside a canyon and protected by further development. Rachel was a longtime visitor to Sedona and purchased the property with the stipulation that all could visit regardless of what development came around it.
While perched on rocks of Rachel’s Knoll, Daniel will guide you in practices and perspectives that lead to increased wellness, empowerment and spiritual awakening. We gather personal insights into what may be causing our lives to feel stuck and “out of alignment”, going directly to the source or the cause. The negative experiences that you have been having are representative of the theme that you chose to explore. We will discover what that theme has been and crossover to the empowered path of healing and consciously creating the rest of your life.
12:00PM – Lunch and discussion.
1:30PM – Native American Medicine Wheel. Tucked away in the heart of Sedona is one of the largest medicine wheels in Sedona.
This is a simple and effective tool for balancing the areas of our life. Each of the 36 stones is represented by an element or animal and each of these carries its own wisdom and medicine.
Being one of the creators of this wheel, Daniel will provide deep insight from your intuitive and meditative walk in the wheel
3:30PM – Breathwork and Sound Healing Journey. A profound experience of deep, fast breathing paired with evocative music and musical instruments. Altered states of consciousness and deep emotional and physical healing is possible.
You’ll lie on your back, close your eyes and Daniel will guide you and go with you on your journey into breath. There’s no passing out or hyperventilating and the focus is mostly on the exhale (letting go). God is in your breath…the catch is, you’ve got to get past your own mind. Solution: breathwork.
After breathwork, you’ll relax and restore to the healing sounds and vibrations of crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, didgeridoo, drums, gongs and other musical instruments.

This multi-day Spiritual Awakening In The Vortex (Sedona) is for deep, inner self-discovery, healing, vision quest, and transformation. You will have personal and dedicated time with Daniel Posney. Your days are a combination of indoor sessions of coaching, intensive breathwork (for altered states of consciousness and healing of emotional trauma) and sound healing (for release and balance) and outdoor connection with the land, through hikes and meditations.
The focus of this retreat is dependent on what your needs are. Though, common topics include: boundaries, knowing what your needs are, letting go of resentments and limiting beliefs, healing anxiety and stress. Other topics are: integration of life-changing, psychedelic experiences (ayahuasca, peyote, psilocybin, 5MEO-DMT, etc.) or spiritual awakenings.
