Sing Your Death Song – We are all moving towards something called Death. Some of our greatest fears around death revolve around “What will happen to Me? Is that it for Me?” or “Will my loved ones suffer with my passing?” As a sacred practice among many First Nations, “singing your Death Song” included meeting death honorably and without fear. In the great “cycle of life”, Death plays an important part in giving structure and preciousness to physical life.

  • How can we meet death and know no regrets? Who would you need to be?
  • How can we live in such a way in integrity of our life path?
  • What is most important to you in your moment of death?

On this full-day journey, participants will engage in dialog, exercises, and rituals to welcome the act of truly living into their life, and welcoming death as a natural part of the cycle of life. Each person will create their own Death Song, not to await death, but to embrace life fully. During this sacred time together, we create a bond of heart and soul. Our lives will forever be changed by shifting our perspective about death and releasing any resistance standing in the way of life and living.

“Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide” — Chief Tecumseh

Live your life in such a way, that when Death comes to you,
even Death cries “This I cannot bear!”
