Transforming Frustration Disappointment and Unworthiness
If you find yourself unmotivated about the future, because of frustration and disappointment from the past…frustration is a failed expectation, which is suffering and not accepting or embracing.
It’s like you’re wearing a suit like a business suit, and you’re trying to put a surfing wetsuit over it, so you could surf. You need to take the business suit off. We shouldn’t be able to get motivated about the future if you’re still relooping the past. Remove the business suit and be naked for a bit. Then, put on whatever next suit there is. But, if that business suit isn’t let go of, how can you be ready to surf?
You’ve been seeing and experiencing through the filter of frustration and disappointment. When you look at the world through orange colored glasses, you’re always going to see an orange world. When you look through your life through the lens of frustration and disappointment, you’re always going to see frustration and disappointment, no matter what you do. You’re remembering the known past and putting it into your predictable future and stating “I know how it’s probably gonna go. It’s gonna be frustrating and disappointing.”
What if you stop trying to understand? That just runs the mind crazy. What if you said. “I CHOSE. My soul, my Higher Self CHOSE the experience of frustration and disappointment. Because, that’s a theme that I’m involved in.” If it’s happening, it’s supposed to happen. The problem, though, is that when you, your Higher Self chooses frustration and disappointment, it becomes a paradox. You experience frustration and disappointment and you’re frustrated and disappointed that you are still in this paradox, and you get more frustrated and disappointed. No matter what you do, it’s all painted with frustration and disappointment.
You, your Higher Self asked “What is the craziest puzzle that I could get lost in. I could seriously get lost in this puzzle and there may be a chance that I may not find the door. I could get lost in it ‘forever‘.” But you’re a badass Soul, so you go into this dream and you say “I’m going into frustration and disappointment because I know that I will never leave where I am. I was never born and I will never die.” You go into this dream of frustration and disappointment, and you lose the door for a bit.
The only way out of it is to stop trying to understand it. Because whatever you understand is going to be flavored with frustration and disappointment. It’s one of the most difficult paradoxes to go into, unless you finally realize and acknowledge “I CHOSE to experience frustration and disappointment. Holy cow! I don’t need to understand.” You can stop choosing to experience it NOW. If it’s apparent that it is part of your theme, then every time that you go into frustration and disappointment, about anything, you can realize “Oh, that’s more of me wanting to experience frustration and disappointment. I don’t need to understand that anymore. I don’t need to experience it anymore.” Now, you’re not a victim of frustration and disappointment. You chose to experience frustration and disappointment for the purposes of your Soul’s evolution.
What’s the opposite of frustration and disappointment? Joy and acceptance. Every time you start thinking about frustration and disappointment. pause yourself. Go into the heart, mind, and ask “How can I go into joy and acceptance? Show me.“
Why This Works
- Ownership Dissolves Resistance – By recognizing that your Higher Self chose this theme, you stop resisting it. Resistance amplifies suffering. Acceptance dissolves it.
- Letting Go of Mental Loops – The mind constantly seeks to understand, but if the understanding is rooted in the same frustration and disappointment, it only deepens the loop. Choosing presence over analysis shifts you into a new state.
- Breaking the Illusion of Permanence – The idea that you can stop choosing to experience frustration and disappointment at any moment is empowering. It acknowledges that your state is fluid, not fixed.
- The Power of Contrast – Experiencing frustration and disappointment means you have an innate capacity for joy and acceptance. Without contrast, the highs and lows of human experience wouldn’t exist. But you can now choose to shift toward the other side of the contrast—joy and acceptance.
- Activating the Observer Self – Realizing “Oh, this is just me playing out a chosen theme” pulls you into the observer role. The moment you witness the pattern rather than being consumed by it, you create space for transformation.
Practical Application
The analogy of the business suit and wetsuit is about stripping off the old identity before stepping into a new one. Most people try to force a new reality while still wearing the weight of the old one.
To integrate this, you could:
- Pause and Redirect – When you feel frustration or disappointment rising, stop and say, “I no longer need to experience this. I choose joy and acceptance.”
- Heart-Focused Awareness – Instead of analyzing, drop into the heart and ask, “What does joy and acceptance feel like right now?”
- Symbolic Release – If you’re feeling stuck in old patterns, physically act out removing the “business suit” (shake it off, stretch, take a shower with intention).
Final Thoughts
You are the creator of your experience, contrast serves your evolution, and awareness is the key to liberation. The only “trap” here would be judging yourself for falling back into frustration or disappointment. Even if you revisit those emotions, compassion is key.
